About me

I am one of five children, in a family of 20 that now spans 4 generations. As a family we have celebrated all sorts of important moments in our lives and like many families we have developed our own unique way of celebrating with rituals that have a special meaning in our family. Each of us has a part to play in our celebrations; some are better at cooking, others at the decoration and entertainment. I have always been the one to come up with unique words to mark these special occasions. I love writing words that will help to create personal memories about special days.

I have worked for many years as a volunteer with Cruse, and nursed people in the final stages of their lives. These experiences have helped me to gain a valuable understanding of bereavement and the support needs of people who are grieving.

Now in my work as a celebrant I draw on the insight that my life experiences have given me to support family and friends as they come together to celebrate the start of a new life or say goodbye and express their loss for someone who’s been important in their lives.

I am a member of the Natural Death Centre www.naturaldeath.org.uk and the Greenfuse Guild of Celebrants www.greenfuse.co.uk. I follow the code of conduct set by these associations and benefit greatly from the support available through being part of them.
